How to Make Sure You're Only Showing to Qualified Buyers

By HomeBay

When it's time to show your home, it's understandable to want to make sure  your property is only being toured by buyers who are ready and able to put in an offer. Otherwise, showing your home can feel like a big hassle and a waste of time. But how can you know?

FSBO-showing-tips.jpgIf you list with HomeBay, we can include an MLS note that states showings are only allowed for buyers who have a preapproval letter from a bank or proof of funds necessary to close escrow with cash. Just ask us!

Also, note that most showing requests come from real estate agents. Agents always prefer to work with qualified buyers and most will have done some screening prior to setting up showings to be sure their clients are ready to buy.

You may still get a buyer or two trying to get a feel for the market who request a showing, and especially if you hold an open house. But you can use the tactic explained above to minimize your interaction with not-so-serious buyers.
